1 person found dead on apartment stairs in Istanbul Residents of a 5-storey apartment building on Mehmet Akif Ersoy Street in the Fındıklı neighborhood saw a person lying motionless on the stairs on the 2nd floor of the building. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area upon notice. A check by medical teams determined that the unidentified person had died. Police teams detained G.S., an Uzbekistani national who lived in the apartment on the 2nd floor of the building. The body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute after the work of the crime scene investigation teams. Apartment manager Eren Erbey told reporters that the residents did not know the person who lost their lives, adding, "It was a woman from Uzbekistan who was detained. He had been living here for 4-5 years. I just heard it was alcohol-related." Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death.
